Great place. Good service.
Honest work and great service. Explained the problem, the cost of the repair. I was very happy with their work. Thank You Smith's!
Over priced
I was stuck out of town when my van wouldn't start. After calling around to several places they were the only ones who could get it in the same day. They were very friendly and helpful but the price they quoted me was outrageous! Turned out to be the battery and alternator and they were going to charge over $1000. When I asked if they could just change the battery it would be over $200, $70 for labor on a battery change!! Went across the street for over $400 cheaper. If only their prices matched their customer service!
I can't give -0- stars or I would. Blew a rear wheel cylinder on an '05 Dodge Dakota. Quoted me $1300 to replace both wheel cylinders, both sets of shoes and both drums. Told me their shop rate is $107 per hour. (Just shy of a typical dealership rate). Parts for the work would have been $575 at 100% mark up, and maybe another $150 worth of labor, but another $725??? It doesn't take 7 hours to replace the rear brakes on ANY vehicle. Disgustingly and obscenely overpriced. "We could reuse the drums and drop the price to $827". I don't think so Tim! I thought they would be reasonable since the location closer to home that's associated with it is more reasonable. Big NOPE! Steer clear!
This place is severely over priced. The owner literally told me he has to charge so much to keep the lights on. They clearly have more money than they know what to do with and it's no wonder with their prices. My car had broken down and I needed to get it towed and Smith's was suggested to me. I only found out after the estimate that it may be the most expensive place in town. The owner had clearly never looked at my car and did not come through with the promise to inspect it. I got a new alternator, belt and battery and paid over $1000! I feel more than ripped off. I would have towed elsewhere but after paying the first tow, the $100+ to "look at it" I was already into them for $200 and after paying towing again it would have been a wash. Definitely will never use this place again - unless what they replaced breaks down, lol!
