I've been stuck in the Altoona area all weekend . And when Monday came I searched and searched for somone to get my truck in with a blown break line, see I'm not from the state of iowa so I don't my way around, but I came across Google here and found Smith Automotive, right from the start I was met with kindness and hospitality .they got me in with my emergency! They were great with my comfort, and the swiftness to the repair to my truck. And the quality job they did. I am so happy with their work . Via other places I was not met with such kindness or was met with an outrageous price ! Thank you again guys I'm forever grateful

I was blown away by the exceptional service I received at Smith Automotive. The staff is friendly, courteous, and professional, and they even went out of their way to ensure I paid the lowest price possible for my repairs. Best Customer Service around, easy to work with, Honest and got the job done in a reasonable time and price. I was a walk in (almost literally) and they offered me a ride while I waited, I thought I would wait to see what was wrong. In the short time I waited they had several customers come in and they gave every one of them a ride. The kind of customer service offered here is unusual in today’s world. I could write on and on about the service and price they provided, but I will end with just a big Thank You and I would Highly Recommended Automotive Shop!

Great to work with!

It is easy to call and get an appointment. My experience so far is a very good one. When I have had to have something done besides oil changes, the repairs were done quickly and on target (no hidden costs or extra charges). I have been a customer for about 3 years now and no bad experiences at all. I have recommended to others and they are currently using them exclusively. Give them a try and you will be happy with the results.

I have been taking our vehicles to Smith Automotive for 3-4 years after a not so pleasant experience with another automotive shop. I believe Rusty, Bill and the crew are a rare find in the Des Moines area, honest, trustworthy and reliable! Would absolutely recommend Smith Automotive for all your car needs.

Great shop, I use them for 2 fleet vehicles I'm responsible for. They do good work and never any issues or surprises.
